Starter removal/installation
There's the pic of my old one! In case you don't know the starter trick when it wont start and the starter is suspect tap on the starter with a hammer. Referring to the above photo, tap it on the back of the black area! while its still connected of course. Tap it while having someone crank the engine simultaneously and if it starts you know its the starter. I wore mines down to the last leg. Here's how i changed it!
Jack up the vehicle if needed but i was able to slide right under!
Loosen these bolts
The above Photo is the starter bottom bolt. It has a washer and a line clamp under the bolt, loosen this bolt...
but don't remove all the way!
The bolt closest and with the clean silver behind it is the back bolt, loosen but don't remove these bolts or the starter will fall and it has some weigh!
After loosening the 2 bolts remove the wiring! You should already have the negative cable disconnected. These are the electrical connections of the starter remove and then remove the loosened bolts.
The start will be out and ready to replace put everything back in the same place! And your done
Make sure to get the right starter unlike me!!!
I had to put everything back and go get the right starter! lol
But be safe, take your time and you can do it!
